This comes as no surprise, as the Finnish conductor, who was born in 1985, once started out as a percussionist - in orchestras, jazz clubs and hard rock bands. It remains to be seen how he can get the orchestra grooving in works by Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky at his Zurich debut.
